В Алгарве состоялось вручение наград премии World Travel Awards (WTA).
Лондон «отбился» от конкурентов в лице Венеции, С-Петербурга, Стокгольма, Мадрида, Праги и Парижа и на волне своей олимпийской славы стал ведущим туристическим городом года в Европе.
В номинации "Ведущий отель Европы» Hôtel Le Bristol (Париж) смог обойти всех конкурентов в лице Hotel Cipriani (Венеция), The Dorchester (Лондон), Four Seasons Hotel Milano и «Гранд Отель Европа» (С-Петербург).
Второй год подряд на подиум поднялся отель Aldemar Olympian Village на Западном Пелопоннесе, удостоенный звания « Ведущий пляжный отель Европы».
